I built my career as a communication advisor to the nerdiest among us: scientists, engineers, attorneys, regulators and policy wonks. Basically, I help nerds communicate better with regular humans. I’m a nerd whisperer, if you will.
My professional roots are in journalism and the bulk of my career has been in public service – mostly environmental agencies with a dash of transportation. My recent jump to the private sector has been successful, probably because nerds at for-profit and non-profit organizations need help communicating, too.
Like any good Pacific Northwesterner, I love coffee, IPA and the outdoors. My husband and I have a daughter, and we are baffled by how she ended up being so awesome. I aspire to creating an Instagram-worthy minimalist home and workspace, but I can’t find my copy of The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. After an active life of ballet, snowboarding, running and hiking, I’m learning to live with hip dysplasia, the bright side of which is that I have a newly discovered and limitless empathy for retrievers everywhere.
